Ad Industries was founded in Denver, Colorado in 1956 as an advertising specialty distributor. In 1956 a small satellite sales office was opened by Richard Wurzel. At that time the company became focused on ring binders and related products, as very little production was being done in our Van Nuys facility and it wasn't until 1974 that we went into full scale production. Our primary line of products at that time were vinyl, poly and turned edge binders. Later on we decided to add index tabs to our line of products.

Growth in the early years was dramatic. It wasn't unusual for Ad Industries to double its business every year. We quickly grew out of our facilities in Van Nuys and had to move into larger quarters. After 3 moves within a period of 7 years, we finally settled into our facility in North Hollywood. Within a few years we had to expand and add another 15,000 square feet to our already existing 35,000 square feet.

Expansion in 2002: In August of 2002, Ad Industries acquired two of its largest West Coast competitors, Western Looseleaf and Rundel Products. This acquisition allowed us to grow into other markets, such as Multi-Media Packaging (Audio, Video, CD and DVD products).

Since our products are mostly custom, we continued to expand our product line by adding information & entertainment packaging. This allowed us to better serve our base of customers providing them with binders of every construction. We expanded into custom boxes made in vinyl, turned edge and wood construction. We added a line of advertising specialty items allowing us to provide our customers with seat cushions, folios of every style, card cases, phone jackets, luggage tags and document holders to name just a few. It wasn't until recently that we realized that Ad Industries was missing the opportunity to support a new marketplace and started manufacturing hospitality products such as room directories, menu covers, check presenters and door hangers.

In the infancy of our business many jobs had one color decoration, but as time evolved our customers became more sophisticated. As the times changed we in turn had to adapt to the needs of our customers and started doing multiple colors to 4 color process on vinyl and other substrates. We expanded our imprinting to include foil stamping, embossing, debossing and appliqué work.

Ad Industries has enhanced our product line by adding digital printing capabilities to our line of overlay, embedment and litho sheet binders. We now offer this printing service to our customers.

In 1998 Ad Industries modernized its graphic department with state of the art equipment allowing our customers the opportunity to E-mail their graphics to us. Currently, we will be adding "Proof On-Line" to our list of capabilities.

Ad Industries has made a commitment to our customers. This commitment is to remain competitive and to provide the service that our customers demand, by meeting their delivery schedules with a product that exceeds their expectations. We have honored this commitment by hiring dedicated and professional employees. These people realize that they make the difference. We also know how important it is to keep up with technology and how this can affect our ability to be competitive, so Ad Industries has added sophisticated robotic equipment to our sealing, case making, cutting, screening and vacuum forming departments in order to keep up with the demands of our valued customers.

Recently Ad Industries was honored by the binding industries of America, which bestowed upon us two years in a row the coveted "Best Of Show" award. We received these awards for our creativity within our industry.

We at Ad Industries wish to thank our customers for their continued support and on behalf of our entire staff, wish to thank you.
